It's no secret I'm a mega fan of this girl, and I'm not the only one.

Her latest album (As Day Follows Night) debuted at no.5 on the Australian charts, behind 3 Micheal Jacksons and Lady Gaga. Considering it's an indie release inspired by blues, it's a good feat! She has two earlier albums, her debut (The Overture And The Underscore) is of slightly stripped down, echoing lovesongs. Her second and breakthrough album (What The Sea Wants, The Sea Will Have) is much more complex and atmospheric though.

Use of the piano and guitar is a prime supplement to her wonderful voice in all her music.

I started a MELANIE thread in the 70's forum so check it out cause I don't want to derail this one. Sarah seems to have that influence, and if not, that same style you see me mention in there.

I like that type of voice. I will listen to the rest today.

I love love love Sarah Blasko. So happy she won the Aria for best Female 2009, which is the Australian Grammy.

Not really given Blasko much time of day, tbh, but I saw her on RocKwiz (a TV show, for those unenlightened non-Australians) and she wasn't bad.

I'm still really diggin her!! Love that voice!! She's still like the NEW Melanie to me..that's a good thing.
