It seemed weird at the time. In the late 70s I was in a country band. The singer did ALL hardcore country except Wolly Bolly.

Thought I would document this historical album…the Debut, Wooly Bully which turns 60 June 2025.

Wooly Bully
Sam the 'sham' fits allright......it actually was a fun radio track and most of us back then had the 45....my brother and I did. His name is Domingo Samudio and he's 88.
They always remined me of Question Mark and the Mysterians...one hit wonders with funny names and an odd presence. 'Sam' was in a band with Trini Lopez for a short while who had some success in the 60's.
As Nai mentioned Little Red Riding Hood also charted for them. They did rerelease Wooly Bully in 1969.
He went on to do some 'solo things' like 'Yakety Yak' but the "Pharoahs' did play on it.
From same lp....version of Poison Ivy
