It stayed on the U.S. Top 40 for 18 weeks and continues to get great airplay to this day. "Lil' Red Riding Hood" peaked at #1 on Cashbox and #2 on Billboard in August of 1966.
Sam received critical acclaim for his work with Ry Cooder on the soundtrack for the film The Border. Today he writes poetry, music, and makes occasional live appearances.
