Rush vs Styx

I'm goig with Rush But it's close, Styx had some really good stuff pre-Kilroy.

Not a huge fan of either, but I like Rush, uh, more.

(I honestly did not do that on purpose. It just fell right in my lap.)

RUSH because their discog is far better than Styx overall, but Styx had a run of 4 great albums, from Equinox to Pieces Of Eight that I would rank with any band of their era.

You can easily add Cornerstone & Paradise Theater to that run of good albums.....


I like both bands.....if I were back in the 1970's and asked this question, I would have no problem saying Rush is hands down the better band........but since this isn't the 1970's, I'm choosing Styx. Styx's albums have held up over time even when they weren't getting all the exposure Rush has had.

Not really similar bands at all but I love em both. I'd take Rush all day long.
