Roots of Pink Floyd

I've always thought it was so cool that a psychedelic band that released tracks such as "Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun" was named after a couple of relatively obscure bluesmen.

I remember reading about the reason they picked their name, the one they had chosen was already taken so they picked Pink Floyd before they played a gig.

One of my favorite bands, but I much prefer PF from Meddle forward to the early version, all respect to Syd for his contributions in the beginning, but they grew so much as a band when David Gilmour joined the group and the rest is history.
