Band: Rise To Fall
Album: Restore The Balance
Year: 2010

This is a new album by a new band that I just discovered earlier today. I was listening to the melodic death metal station when "When The Instinct..." started to play. It was the filler of the album that leads into another song, so as I was listening to it, I thought it sounded pretty cool, and I knew it was going to lead into something else, but since it was the filler/start for the next track, I didn't get to hear it lead into the next track, so I looked up the band and found that they have only released one album so far, and that would be this one.
It surprises me sometimes how some of the more unknown bands still remain to be unknown. Some of them deserve more than enough chance to be in the ears of many many listeners, but they don't get that chance because there is so much in the way (radio being one of those things). Personally, I try to make it a goal to find a new band and a new album that I can come to like, and fortunately, this album has met that requirement, it's actually blown that requirement out of the water. Restore The Balance is probably going in my top 10 albums of melodic death metal in general. It's got everything that I personally look for in terms of melo-death. Powerful riffs, strong growls, and great vocals all around. Plus, it's catchy and very easy to listen to in terms of being able to handle melo-death in general.
A couple of songs that stick out to me at first would have to be:
Chasing Infinity
Prophets of Doom
The whole entire has the feel of what those two songs give off. Every song I have heard on this album has power, fierceness, and the right amount of strength all thrown together to make one pretty fierce and badass melodic death metal album for 2010. I highly recommend checking it out, this band has got a strong future ahead of them especially with their first album being as strong as this.
