I've just read news that Donna Summer, 63, has passed away in Florida, following a long battle with cancer. She had kept her illness a secret from the public and was still working. Her music always seemed a bit more intelligent than that of the average disco performer.

OMG!!! I cant believe this, how very very sad. She seemed such a lovely bubbly person, how cruel to be taken away by Cancer.

Peace after Pain - lovely lady

Never a huge fan, but I didn't mind a couple of her songs at all back in the day.

Never heard a bad word about her either over the years, a touch of class as well as talented.

:rip: Donna.

Sad news R.I.P. :uh: We are saying goodbye to many of the legends we grew up with, it kind of puts things into perspective.

I was saddened to hear about this on my way to work. They were playing her tunes here and there. They threw out some interesting bits about her prior to her becoming the disco queen [which she despised btw]. She once formed a girl group modeled after The Supremes then she was smitten by Joplin which led her to fronting a blues band.

...after those fizzled, on the Europe and encounter with Giorgio Moroder. And the rest they say is history. The lady had the pipes for it.

R.I.P. Ms. Summer.
