I absolutely love this song, ever since I was a very little kid:

And also as a little kid, could not listen to this one enough back in 1975:

Good songs DJ....film themes were big..loved Convoy movie.

The Bee Gees- Spicks And Specks.
These had the 2nd record to be played on BBC.Radio after the Move pipped them to be the first.
This was a great tune in the hot summer of '75.

From the Cinema screen to the wireless-
Simon Bates played this heaps on his
    'Our Tune'.
Breaking Glass involved the late Dodi Fayed..and sadly the featured saxophoninist here lost his fingers in a bench saw accident.

The Arrows- I Love Rock n Roll.
Glam was never far from you in the mid- seventies and this outfit had their own show!

    Hello - New York Groove.
Denim clad pop rock was ideal for our local commercial Station...Radio Trent
    Which housed David 'kid' Jensen.

Teeny Bopper Glam i called this..serious record play at the time.
Shame the RAK label have never done a boxed set...some great acts.

The late John Peel did a Best Of Year show...and this always topped out.

Led Zeppelin - Stairway To Heaven.

    Hawkwind - Silver Machine.
Even out of my lousy Ajax Marksman from Green Shield Stamps this sounded good.
Stacia who danced around Lemmy was well hot!

The Steve Miller Band - The Joker.
Fab 208 all over this bad boy!

Actually the song came out of a marketing campaign in the early 70's by William Fries, who adopted the name used in the campaign of C. W. McCall and released Convoy along with other songs. The movie came a couple years after the song was a hit.

And if we're talking pure pop, how about this one from 1976?
