I love "Power" by Tom Robinson band, that is a great album Martin.

You can write whatever thread like and that's as relevant a topic as many other's I've seen.

Yes, of course. Strangely, I liked Robinson's later solo work without the guitarist. Perhaps I should give TRB another listen. He now has a website where you can download free mp3s (320kbps) of his best solo tracks.

So it's the man, not the music.

In his case, probably yes. There are musicians that I do not like much as people, but I can listen to them, like Neil Peart, Roger Waters, Sting, (early) Elton John, Bryan Ferry, Keith Emerson, but their music is strong. With The Smiths, I am borderline as to whether I like them or not and he tips the balance. I always liked Johnny Marr's guitar playing and their anti-meat attitude.

Eminem doesn't exist in my music world, and I consider "white rappers" nearly an oxymoron, that...genre is a blight on the music world in my opinion. Perhaps if they staged an "All Rappers" get together somewhere remote they would solve the problem and exterminate each other trying to maintain their precious "street cred" as their posses' demand of their leader's. :wtf:

;)

I remember Keith Richards mentioning that he has nothing againts rap and it should exist unless they all kill each other [tongue in cheek of course].

Rap is rhythm-based, so if that is how you like your music, then it is fine. I prefer my music based on melody. Having said this, some musicians or composers, like Maurice Ravel and Carlos Santana, use a lot of rhythm (sometimes two rhythms).

I just had a bit of a look at all the bands/artists that my fellow members hate and I have to say, I like most of them - not all of them but yeah, most of them :heheh:
