Play Loud - Hustler

1975 - A&M(US) LP
1975 - Firefly(UK) LP
2002 - Progressive Line(Australia) CD: remastered
2010 - Keyhole(n/a) CD: Digipak, remastered

- Steve Haynes / vocals, harmonica
- Mickey Llewely / guitars, vocals
- Kenney Daughters / keyboards
- Kenney Lyons / bass, vocals
- Tony Beard / drums

1. Money Maker
2. You Had It Coming To you
3. Boogie Man
4. Break Of Day
5. Who D'Yer Think Yer Foolin'
6. Goin' Home
7. Strange Love
8. Little People
9. Night Creeper

Nothing fancy here. Just kick-azz, a punch in the teeth, good times hard rock. English rockers Hustler released, High Street in 1974, average rock 'n' roll but it was very inconsistent. It is thier follow up LP, Play Loud(1975) that the band finds a style similar to Free/Bad Co., a bit of AC/DC and the boogie of Status Quo that does work with the addition of the Purple-esque organ. Most of the tracks are in the hard rock vein but there is a few ballads thrown in there as well.

Having a flashback reading this thread Joe, my older brother had their first album but I'd forgotten about them for decades.

I see you are feeling inspired again.:D

Power tools are fun. If the grinding machine comes out, I might have to pull one of these out:
