These guys got their initial break opening for AC/DC. Plus, being of Irish descent, I can't help but to love seeing some rockers from the motherland.

Only recently discovered this South African guitarist. He has a few albums out already and has opened for international artists such as Bruce Springsteen and Joe Satriani. Some of his originals and some covers -

WICKED MINDS hailing from Italy these guys have very strong Deep Purple & Uriah Heep influences but they are also fond of Black Sabbath and the Italian prog scene of 70s which
can also be heard in their material at times. Really cool band .

Agreed. Love that organ - very Ken Hensley-ish. Gonna check this band out

TW: A resounding "yes!" to your original, and now aged, inquiry. Both the following bands seem grounded in the Golden Age; but inspiration rather than imitation. Each could be a contemporary, rather than a cover, of Zep & Sabbath, respectively.
