This one I believe will be solved fast.
I am looking for a country tune that was about two childhood friends that lost track of one another. One enlisted in 'Nam (I think), was killed and the other visited a wall and carved his name on it. I remember the lyrics "and on the wall they carved his name" somewhere near the end of the song. Ring any bells?

definitely sounds newer, not in hank williams era

The only ones that consistently came up for me were "50,000 Names" by George Jones or "8th of November" by Big & Rich. If not, just wait for Tray to show up. She'll get it.
