I've just listened to all of "Angel and...." it's quite an extraordinary album. Very melancholic yet imposing and almost menacing in places. Up to now they don't remind me of Paradise Lost as mentioned by some others which is a good thing as I simply can't stand alot of Paradise Lost's music. I'm about to break into "Turn Loose..." and see how that shapes up. It's looking promising so far though.

My first time listening to this, and wow!:bow::bow:

Sombre, haunting, beautiful at times and extremely heavy. The title sums this album quite well. It's like walking through a rainy old church cemetery.

"Turn loose..." takes some getting used to if I'm honest there's just a little too much going on to take in at one listen. It's still atmospheric and melancholic throughout which I love - so very little music I listen to nowadays takes me away in my head to places spawned out of the sounds I am hearing but MDB manage it with their writing style and song structure. Going to go through "Turn Loose..." again tonight and then give the above a try as Taboo makes it sound interesting.

^ Riff that's a great song and one of my favs from that album Turn Loose the Swans. So I've been listening to their new album and I gotta' say these guys are pretty much the most consistent Doom Metal band on this planet. A Map of All Our Failures certainly reminds me of older MDB, but just more sombre and subtle.
