Re: Megadeth

Continuing my crusade to acquire the best versions of as many bands as I can I have got my first and only Megadeth MFSL CD now, "Countdown To Extinction".

Re: Megadeth

I prefer Mechanix to The Four Horsemen now. Used to be the other way around.

Re: Megadeth

What I love most about Megadeth is they arent repetitive in my opinion.
Metallica often to me gets way too similar with their songs, Megadeth has nice catchy songs that are different.

Brilliant song, written by Dave when he found out about Cliff Burtons death.

Re: Megadeth

This band has had a lot of different line ups yet have been able to do consistently great albums. That is rare to me in bands. Credit to Mustaine where its due, he may have been responsible for firings and stuff but at least it didn't drop the bands credibility.

Re: Megadeth

I love mustaine, he's a great vocalist, and a great guitar player. Some people say he whines when he sings, but I don't think he does at all, I think he is what makes Megadeth. Their recent album "Endgame" was pretty amazing in my opinion. It still had that Megadeth sound that i've come to know and love.

Re: Megadeth

His voice suits that very aggressive thrash metal, fans like change but not for the sake of it, and Megadeth really only did that with the Risk album.
Countdown and Youth are hard rockish but still maintain that Megadeth formula.
Risk is underated though.

Re: Megadeth

I agree completely, Risk is one of my favorite Megadeth albums. A lot of people go for Countdown, or United Abominations, and sure...those albums are great, but the older stuff has a lot of the songs that are big hits. Hangar 18 for instance. I believe that was on Rust In Peace, which is also a phenomenal album. Especially with Return to Hangar. But I dont think Return to Hangar was on that album, I could be wrong.
