Nice to see a Max Webster thread pop up! Haven't seen Kim Mitchell in years but he always put on a good show when we seen him.

Yesterday afternoon Kim Mitchell played a free show near us in Buffalo so the wife & I went and what a phenomenal show he put on! He opened with High Class & Borrowed Shoes and just rocked the Park for 90 minutes.

Gratwick Park ?? I hope is was crowded. I was supposed to be passing through Buffalo on vacation but unfortunately we had a late change of plan and did not travel this year. I would have been there

Jim, it was excellent! It wasn't as crowded as I thought. Kim Mitchell actually opened for Tom Cochran who had a couple of hits (Lunatic Fringe & Life is a Highway). We left after Kim because I was pretty sore and it was 90 degrees with no shade. From what I heard not many people stuck around for Cochran and Kim Mitchell blew him away

^^That's not a bad combo though, Tom Cochrane(Red Rider) and Kim Mitchell(Max Webster) but Kim Mitchell is amazing in a live show and TC would never be able to generate the energy that Kim does.

Trying to think of all the places we took in Kim Mitchell. Places like "Septembers", couple places out on the lake and I think even "Terry's Corner" out in Gaston that placed rocked!

Every show after Kim played "Patio Lanterns" we say ok its time to go, it was just an inside joke since he rocked such a great show but that song had gotten so much airplay.

a Kim Mitchell show was always a great time and it's good to hear that's still the case Buck!

Terry's Corners was great and yes we did see Kim Mitchell there(maybe twice). He did play Patio Lanterns Sunday! I remember the one show we were at outside at September's(probably around the same time we saw the Divinyls) and Kim was amazing that night as well. Always great shows & great times

^^ That's Cool!

Yes I think it was within a week or so of that Divinyls show. It so funny my memory of seeing him there is like it was yesturday :) it was when they had that raised stage outback and we were standing on the volleyball court watching both of those shows.

I think we seen him at that place in Hamburg "Bombay Beach Club" (I think) as well.

Sad news but at least he should get back to full strength:

***IMPORTANT NEWS***
Alert Music confirms that Kim Mitchell had a heart attack in the early morning of January 12th. After successful emergency surgery, Kim is resting in hospital for another day or two. Doctors tell him it will be 6-8 weeks before he is back to full strength. Kim would like to thank the nurses and doctors at St. Joseph's and St. Michael's hospitals.

Canadian rock musician Kim Mitchell is recovering in hospital after suffering a heart attack on Tuesday.

A Facebook message posted by Alert Music, his management company, says Mitchell underwent emergency surgery.

He will remain at the hospital for another day or two before returning home.

Mitchell has been a staple of the Canadian and Toronto-area music scenes for decades, first as the lead singer and guitarist for Max Webster in the 1970s before going solo.

Some of his best-known hits include "Go For Soda," "Patio Lanterns" and "I Am A Wild Party."

Last year, Mitchell left Toronto classic rock radio station Q107, where he worked for about 11 years.
