David Gilmour‘s upcoming Rattle That Lock album isn’t the only new music the former Pink Floyd guitarist has to offer.

MOJO reports that he’s also heavily featured in a compilation CD, titled David Gilmour & Friends, that comes bundled with the October 2015 issue of the magazine, which includes a cover profile on Gilmour. Promising a “collection of music designed to celebrate the Pink Floyd leader’s life, work and influence,” the disc features Gilmour appearances on six tracks, including a cover of the Beatles‘ “Here, There and Everywhere” he recorded with his son Joe.

According to the magazine, Gilmour sent in the recording a couple of years ago, and after “a spot of cajoling,” agreed to let them release it. Unsurprisingly, he says he was motivated to record his cover for the simple reason that he’s a longtime fan of the band. “I really wish I had been in the Beatles,” he explained in the interview. “[They] taught me how to play guitar, I learnt everything. The bass parts, the lead, the rhythm, everything. They were fantastic.”

Rattle That Lock, due Sept. 18, arrives a little less than a year after Pink Floyd’s The Endless River, the album that Gilmour insists serves as the band’s final farewell. He’s scheduled to support Lock with a series of tour dates set to begin Sept. 12 in Croatia.

Gilmour has already released Rattle That Lock‘s title track as a single and video. More recently, he offered a snippet of another track, “5 A.M.,” as part of an unboxing video for the new album.
