Is anyone a fan of Joe Ely. He had a good album out called Musta Notta Gotta Lotta. More like Country Rockabilly type of music. I know he was involved with The Clash a :pullhair:bit.

Joe Ely has been quite prominent in the Texas music scene for years, but I'm not sure how many other places are actually in tune with his work.

He has done work with The Chieftains, Bruce Springsteen, John Hiatt, and a few more. I remember seeing him open for Jason and The Scorchers back in the day in Austin. Or maybe it was the other way around..:heheh:

Live at Liberty Lunch is one of my favorite albums by him.

If you are interested in Joe Ely,then this is the place to start. This was recorded on tour
with The Clash in 1980.While he is a good songwriter in his own right, for me Joe's strength is his interpretation of other peoples songs.Especially those written by Butch Hancock and Jimmie Dale Gilmore.
While his studio albums are good,I prefer his live recordings.Live At The Liberty Lunch is
top notch as Phil B says.
