JIMMY PAGE Remastering LED ZEPPELIN Catalog - Oct. 29, 2012
Peter Mensch, the manager of LED ZEPPELIN guitarist Jimmy Page, told the U.K.'s Sunday Times that the legendary axeman is holed up in a west London studio "remastering every LED ZEPPELIN LP." It is believed that the new remasters, which are tentatively due next year, will possibly include alternate takes and unreleased material as well.

Page recently told Mojo magazine that there are plans to release each ZEPPELIN studio album as a box set with additional material from each LP. In addition, it was revealed in an article in The Australian that artist Shepard Fairley has been tapped to re-design the artwork for the upcoming reissues.

Page recently told a British radio station that he is working on new music, which might be released before the end of the year. During a chat with BBC Radio, Page said, "I'm just looking forward to making some music and surprising people with it. It won't be just teaming up with lots of people who are [big] names. I've got an idea of something which I've had for a long time and now's the time to do it."

Page remained ambiguous when talking about the still-unnamed project, saying: "I have got other ideas that have been nagging at me for a long long time, I think the way to present music is same picture different frame, and sometimes this frame is quite radical."

I am starting to understand why people hate remastered versions of albums. Fixing things that ain't broken.

How many times?
Didn't he do this like 20 years ago when the Box Set was released (And I have by the way).

Yes, it's POINTLESS... I'd rather Page release some sort of outtakes set or another live compilation. Even better, get on primarily with that project he's talked about for eons.

Hey this is good news in my book. Compare any Zeppelin studio CD you own to How The West Was Won and you can hear how much better the new remasters will sound.

I agree with Riff, not another remaster...:bu:

If he is remixing the tapes, and then releasing high resolution 24-192's then I would understand and maybe even buy one to check it out, if it's just another set of CD's lobbed out with more useless bits and pieces not worthy of being released except for the novelty value then I'll pass.

Personally I'm hoping "Classic Records" reissues the 200 gram Quiex vinyl set again, those sound better than any of the CD's.
