Jesus Is Just Alright With Me

I really dislike both. I'm annoyed with songs that preach religion, especially when it's done in a "hip" pop culture fashion. "Jesus is just alright?" Huh?! Isn't he supposed to be all perfect, all powerful, all knowing, "true God from true God, begotten, not made, one in being with the Father", etc.

If you're going to preach Christianity, why not just put the Nicene Creed to music then? But no, they put a facile New Age twist on the message. Bloody hippies.

Lighten up. I never took this song as preaching anything. It's like the ZZTop song "Jesus just left Chicago". You'll never hear that in any church
