IRON & WINE

Iron & Wine is the stage name of an indie-folk singer and songwriter, Sam Beam.
This artist would more than likely match the taste of those who have an interested in acoustic / indie folk persuasion.
I personally find the music very soothing to the ear, mostly for how well the acoustic is played, along with the subtle drums and folk like bass lines, etc.

The discography includes:

The Creek Drank The Cradle

Our Endless Numbered Days

The Shephard Dog

Kiss Each Other Clean

As for recommendations (especially for those new to Iron & Wine or indie folk in general), there isn't a specific album I would suggest starting with,
I personally started with Around The Well, which is his unreleased / compilation album.

Sam is great for late night listening.

Tend to play the iron & wine albums on shuffle. Great mix of several years of work.

I saw him with Calexico in 2005. Great show!
