I went and saw Pendulum at the Showbox last night here in Seattle, and there is a lot to say about it, so hopefully I can get it all written out as well as I want to. Here we go:
So, we got to the concert, and it was completely packed with people wearing glow sticks, and 'kandi' and all that fun stuff. I was with my 3 friends, and I hadn't realized how crazy the show was going to be, considering I hadn't had a lot of prior knowledge about Pendulum. Anyway, there was also a band who played before them, I believe their name was Inner City, that's all I could really hear though, so I could be wrong, but they put on a great show. I never heard of them before, but apparently they come from Oregon, which isn't that far from where I live, so I was surprised I hadn't heard of them before. So yeah, they put on a great show, got me pumped for when Pendulum came on.
About a half hour later Pendulum came on stage and completely destroyed the crowd with pure epicness. This is coming from a person who really that much into the techno / dnb scene of music, but these guys changed my opinion. I was shaking my head, I was jumping up and down, I was screaming, needless to say, they put on a great show.
Now to the most memorable part of the night. I was with my friend Kevin and he was saying like "dude, you should crowd surf", I was like "i've never done it before", so I was a little hesitant, but I went ahead and did it anyway. So we found this guy who was more than willing to help out in getting me on top of the crowd, before I knew it, I was being lifted up from my feet and was brought on top of the crowd going across the venue. It was a lot of fun until I dropped in the middle. I have to say that I was incredibly lucky the crowd wasn't as wild as it got later in the night, otherwise I don't know what would have happened. I fell through head first because some idiots forgot to keep me 'surfing', but fortunately the people who dropped me picked me right back up and I was ok. I dodged a huge bullet there.
All in all, it was a great show, and I recommend anybody to see them play, they're great live.
