Holy smokes! I got a lot of listening to do.

Thanx a lot you guys. I appreciate all your recommendations.:grinthumb

I recognise some of the bands though I haven't heard any of thier material and others are new names to me. Probably a good thing as I won't have any expectations or pre-judgements upon listening to them for the first time.

I'll keep you posted on what I've heard.

One the first progressive thrash metal bands.

Suffering Hour 1988
Reason 1990
Manic Impressions 1991
Screams and Whispers 1993
Hindsight: Suffering Hour & Reason Revisited 2010

You can download their albums from the official site: Anacrusis Home Page Intro

Hey Bob,

Excellent recommendations. Thanx a million.:grinthumb

Still going through all this stuff.

I've listened to a few tracks from Anacrusis and really liking it. Definitely going to explore them more.

You're welcome. I'm glad to help. I also discovered Anacrusis a few years ago on a metal forum :grinthumb.

Just like you I lost interest in thrash metal for almost a decade approx between 1995 and 2005 but I was attracted again by this revival of the genre and now I am also looking back to the good old years :grinthumb.

Ya, from what I gather there seems to be a revival. Listening to Warbringer sparked a renewed interest in the genre for me. I missed a lot of the bands from the first wave also, so a descent back to the foundations of the kingdom.:D

You guys should have done a a-z of thrash metal......what a start with A.....Anthrax,Artillery,Acid Reign.Annihilator ...etc and ANACRUSIS...well done b.o.b sound excellent to me....love the gothic guitar/thrash interplay on that track.........I think FORBIDDEN are storming aswell :grinthumb

XENTRIX.......A band probably remembered for the cringeworthy cover of "ghostbusters".......but they were a lot better than that

CITIES.......Dont know much about these guys....think they only made 1 album[ a undiscovered gem:grinthumb ]....their drummer was once in Twisted Sister
