I need to break Traffic clean in two.
I get a favorite Dave Mason album and a favorite "after Dave Mason" album.

I'm greedy that way.

so.... ? the decisions?

okay, Heaven is in Your Mind (aka: Mr. Fantasy)

then:
throw up the coin between Barleycorn and Low Spark.

but...
you know what???
I'm FINALLY starting to really like "Shootout at the Fantasy Factory" cause they COOK like they do on the live albums.

Still..
those other two are just too perfecto!

for me, post Dave Mason Traffic is all about the JAMS.
even the truly great songs often end with these astonishing band workouts.
Dave Mason era Traffic is all about the ACID.

LOL.
I just love their 'psychedelic' stuff with Winwood's big perfect voice on top.
and again, the songwriting is of a VERY high order.
man, I love those guys.

I'll go with Zebra. I love their first album although their sophmore effort No Tellin' Lies gives it a run for the money.

maybe it means you were a second child, born on the second of the second month...

who thinks the traffic award should go to john barleycorn must die... which order does that one fall in? cuz i *am* the fourth child of a fourth child of a fourth generation foreman.

(ok, not really. except the fourth child part.)

Actually, I'm the first child... :) And I have to agree with Snee about cutting Traffic in half. The second album benefits from the variety of great songs by Winwood and Mason ie 40,000 Headmen and Feelin' Alright. But Barleycorn has the focused virtuosity of Winwood with Glad, Freedom Rider, Barleycorn, etc... It really is a tough choice. Just great music!
