I've been listing to classic rock my whole life. I have no clue about new music these days. I love the early sounds of The Bealtles, simon and Garfunkel, the Rolling Stones, Lovin Spoonful, ect. All of my friends make fun of me because I like older music, but I only like it because it's the best. I hope i'm wrong but the best days of music are behind us.

Tell your friends that you simply have more wide-ranging, cultured, mature, and sophisticated tastes than they do, and consequently a provably bigger brain capacity, so it's their loss if they can't see past teen-pop and appreciate the mighty Stones and Simon and Garfunkel etc!

Welcome to CRF young chap, very nice to meet you! :grinthumb

It's good to be here! I was listing to the Styx song Come away and realized it was exactly 6 minutes long, so I typed 'songs that are 6 minutes lonng' on google and stumbled upon this site. I've been looking for something like this forever.

Music today is more about hard chords and pleasing sound rather than lyrical progression and the people making the material. That's not to say music today is bad, I just mean music is less creative and more marketable than 50s 60s and 70s rock. Teens also tend to like new things and things no one else has heard of. Classic rock is neither of those :p hope that helps, and welcome to the forum :)

I would not say you are alone. I also would not say that music today is ALL bad and listening to only one genre can be a bit limiting. Welcome to the forum. :grinthumb
