The name is Bookworm and I'm glad to make your acquaintance. Now please alow me to ask a question thats been driving me bugabuga. I've posted this question on other boards but no one can remember or has forgotten what it was about.
Here it is;
Sometime in the 60's, the band Lovin' Spoonful got into some kind of controversy involving (GASP!) drugs. The band, or someone in the band, snitched (told, tattled,squealed,narked) on someone or another rock band and Lovin' Spoonful were branded "Narks" by the so called Rock and Roll underground.
I'm not crazy. I know this was rumored. A friend of mine, older than I was living in San Francisco in the 60's and remembers the rumour but does not remember the details.
If you can tell me what this was about you'll be my friend for life.

Okay. Here’s the scoop. Zal Yanovsky (lead guitar for the spoonful) was busted for marijuana possesion in San Francisco. He was (suposedly) pressed by the cops to devulge his supplier. Fearing he would be barred from re-entering the U.S. (Canadian citizen) he reluctantly did so. This created a bunch of animosity among the other members of the band as well as the fans.

I hope that satifies.

Orion you are my hero of the day. Have you ever been bugabuga? Is not a nice place. If you got a hold of the brown acid in the 60's you know what I'm talkin' about.
P.S. What am I talkin' about anyway?
