Hey guys and gals, anybody else a fan of the California girl band Haim? They don't have an album out yet but have a few singles and EPs and are absolutely fantastic live, really talented musicians.
These kids are for real. Even though they're referred to as a 'girl band', (technically, they are girls), this is a band good enough to simply be called a band.
They all play multiple instruments, and it's not just some practiced things they learned to be on stage. Their folks were band members once, (forget which one, nobody huge), so they've been around music all their lives.
Their studio stuff is fairly polished, but their songs are distinct from one another, not just one formula and structure on every song.
Their songs can be full and lushly produced, but they have just as many sparse, stark, and musically minimal cuts.
But in order to fully appreciate just how good this band is, they have to be seen live.
I know this is minutes long, but if you stay with it, I think you'll be surprised and just what talented musicians they are.
