Mostly happy:
- Happiness by Ken Dodd, a Scouse stand-up comedian who could sing and had hits in the sixties. There was a Ken Dodd comic strip in TV Comic, along with Dr Who and others, all of which I loved as a child.
- Has anyone mentioned Happy Talk from South Pacific, bizarrely covered by the guitarist with The Damned.
- Crying, Laughing, Loving, Lying by Labi Siffre, who I met in a bookshop in the seventies and he told me and my friend about a sci-fi book he'd read. He said it wasn't very good!
- The Laughing Policeman, a British music hall song. It was covered by Stackridge in the mid-seventies.
- The Laughing Gnome by David Bowie, recorded during his Anthony Newley phase, but released following glam rock fame.
