I don't want to say a whole lot about this band, because I want you to experience the wonderful talent these guys bring to the post rock element of music.

Godspeed You! Black Emperor (formerly punctuated Godspeed You Black Emperor! and commonly abbreviated to GYBE or GY!BE) is a Canadian post-rock band which originated from Montreal, Quebec in 1994. They were the first outside act to release their recordings through Constellation, an influential independent record label also located in Montreal.
After the release of their debut album in 1997, the group toured regularly from 1998 to 2002. In 2003, the band announced an indefinite hiatus in order for band members to pursue other musical interests. In the intervening period the group was occasionally rumored to have broken up, but the band finally reconvened for a tour in late 2010 and early 2011.

No biggie LG. They are usually hit and miss, as the post-rock genre generally is. It's become a favored genre of mine, so if people like it, that's cool, if not...that's cool too. But glad you gave it a listen.

Someone recommended them to me a couple years ago, so I got hold of their debut but it didn't leave a lasting impression.

Who knows, I might revisit them one of these days...it's all a matter of time there is never enough in a day anymore for me to get to everything.

I can agree to that. As I said, it doesn't offend me in the least if someone doesn't like it the first time through or however many times one would listen. Thats for any genre really, not just ambient. Everyone has their taste. I get most if not all the satisfaction by making a thread for a band that I like regardless if it gets a lot of attention or not.
