God Is An Astronaut in my opinion is one of the most phenomenal and unique post-rock bands out there right now. They're music has a way of speaking to you without lyrics. Listening to them for quite some time now, i've grown really fond of them fairly quickly. They also released an album back in 2010 that I had no prior knowledge of until this morning. Seems i've got some music to catch up on. Anyway, onto the thread.

They've released a number of LP's, EP's and Singles starting with The End of the Beginning back in 2002. But, recently, I found out about Age of the Fifth Sun. I heard one song off the album from last.fm, and I am hooked beyond hooked.

I feel like I've heard of this band somewhere before. I like it. They seem a little more aggressive than the last instrumental band you posted. I liked When Everything Dies. I remember you telling me you're getting into post rock and I'm still not sure how to define it exactly.

I'm actually not entirely sure how to define it myself. But it's a genre that I have been enjoying for quite some time now. There is something about it. I can't place my finger on it, but there's something with the music that makes me want more. It might be the emotion that I can feel with the music, if that makes sense. The fact that there are no lyrics in most post-rock and that I can still feel the emotion of the artist, it just feels good to me.

Also, just got a copy of their release back in 2010. So far, it's absolutely incredible. The beginning track is about 8 minutes long, and it really gives a good kick start to the album.

I can only take so much of instrumentals before I get bored honestly, but they're good for relaxation. :grinthumb

Oh hell yeah. That's mostly what I use it for. It's a nice break from the melo-death that I usually listen to. :heheh:

Nearly done listening to the album since I got it. I had listened to it on Youtube first, but listening to the album as a whole with no distractions is kind of nice. This song is phenomenal.

There really is nothing like a great opening track to kick start an album. This opening track is absolutely phenomenal. I'm at a loss of words every time.

All Is Violent, All Is Bright was released back in 2006 and it sort of has a bit more of the experimental music that their later releases don't really show very much. Much more catchy songs on this album though, still one of my favorites.
