Pretty good show. He's definately a good showman. I just can't take that two note diad for a guitar solo all night. I got to see his style close up though and it is pretty cool. No pick, flailing rhythm parts with his fingers and picking with his thumb and index finger. Rollicking is the best way I can describe it. My biggest concern is that he's become somewhat of a novelty. He had a lead guitar player and he is reduced to singing and playing when he wants. The sound was very good though (he's been at it for over 30 years). One of the coolest things was the intro to Who Do You Love. That Gibson 175 he plays is so nasty sounding-like a buzz saw and that intro sent a chill down my spine even though I've heard it a thousand times. Gearjammer stole the show. This is where he played some cool slide and took a solo of open chords and slide noise. Nothing technically amazing but a wicked sound. Other than that he ran through the hits-Bad to the Bone, Bourbon, Scotch, Beer, Haircut, Move it on Over, Talk Too Much etc. and interacted with the crowd a good deal. I'd go see him again just because it's a good time show, but if I wan't to be amazed I'll go see the G3 tour.
