The former guitarist for Hawkwind / Widowmaker Huw Lloyd Langton has died aged 61 after battle with cancer, see you on the other side

I'm shocked, I didn't know anything about this. I saw Huw with Widowmaker, which was formed by Keith Ellis and Luther Grosvenor, and he may not have been an official member at that stage. Nevertheless, he was a great guitar player and overshadowed his illustrious bandmates. They should have gone on to world domination, but folded instead and Huw rejoined Hawkwind (he was on their excellent first album). He played on a number of albums, including Sonic Attack, which I think is vastly underrated. RIP.

Shame another rock guy from 1970s & 80s rock era departs.

I knew his name from his HAWKWIND connection but thats about all he reminded me of someone like guitarist Mel Galley (ex TRAPEZE & WHITESNAKE) who died about 4 years ago they both made there mark on the rock world and departed.

Sad news Sweaty.....Huw Lloyd Langton had been battling illness for some years it seems. Will always be remembered for his HAWKWIND connection , but his guitarwork with WIDOWMAKER was also 1st class. R.I.P

It's kind of odd that I just found the first Hawkwind LP days before this was posted.
