Hey Mick, get over it, you should all "Go your own way!!" :grinthumb

I actually think it makes a refreshing change for once to read about an old band like them deciding NOT to reform and tour their greatest hits.

I like Stevie solo, but Fleetwood more.

I think they should do a new album. New music to tour with first. It works for other classic bands that are more productive.

I concede an old band recording new material before they load up to tour is a good approach, but no matter what my esteemed friend, the majority of fans of Fleetwood Mac are buying tickets to hear their all time favorite classic songs, more so than the new ones.

That is simply the fact of life for a band with roots that go back to the late 60's, you cannot separate yourself from the legacy, after all you are using the famous name to attract fans to your shows.

I've always been fond of Stevie Nicks, but this just stinks and given I've got a Fleetwood Mac/Stevie Nicks MP3 playing out in the car it only taints the music just to hear this! :omg:

that's funny, I've been on a FM kick lately, listening in my car as well. I made 2 80 minute cd's; disc 1 is the very best of the '75-'82 era (mostly '75 and '77). Disc 2 is stuff from '82-'87, also Lindsey B.'s hits and Stevie's hits. Nothing from the early years 'cuz I dont have anything on cd, but I do have some FM vinyl from the early 70's.

Yeah it would make for an interesting contrast in music. With Stevie I've stuck most of the tracks from Timespan Greatest Hits album of hers, though I originally brought her Single version of Rooms on Fire which goes for 9 minutes which sadly is a bit long for regular listening - by the end of the song your singing "We're Burning Up and thinking 'bout them rooms that were on Fire. Everytime you got stuck in the groove". Though the Single has another interesting song from Stevie which didn't get onto Timespan called "Alice".

yup, I have that too. I love Stevie, even her overly 80's pop, mainly because it's Stevie Nicks, ya know ;) loved her since I was a kid staring at the Roumors album cover and sleeve.
