I AM SOOT!
Elle is a remarkable talent and my favorite full fledged pop dance artist within the past year or so! She didn't grab me from the very first listen with her song "Lights" but after hearing other songs and trying her album my mind slowly changed about her. For a dance pop oriented album it's got a ton of great material. Elle's got a true vocal talent, the production is great and the songs are filled with haunting melodies and brilliant hooks! I didn't intially fall into her music from the get go. "Lights" is still not a highlight of the album for me! At that point I thought she was a modernized Kylie Minogue. It was "Explosions" that got my attention and changed my mind. The album is just full of mesmerizing pop with an ethereal aura and more soul than you will find in nearly any modern pop. Here are my favorites:
