Shocked and saddened, regardless of Eddie's health problems. Nothing prepares you as a fan for losing a legend like EVH. I'm so sad that he had suffered for so long, especially sad for Wolfgang to lose his Dad, and of course Alex, the other VH bro.

One of the toppermost rock guitarists!

RIP Eddie.

One of my all time favorites.I first saw them in 1979 in Raleigh with Boston, Poco and the Outlaws. And the last time was in 2015 with Kenny Wayne Shepherd.overall I saw them about 7 times

Yeah a shocker!!. Here in the UK the news of Eddie's passing is getting some more than usual coverage on 'mainstream media' than other rock musician's deaths normally get in recent years and on par with Lemmy's passing in late 2015. On the BBC radio 4 7:00am news both a segment of Jump and Michael Jackson's Thriller 'the guitar solo' were played in between a brief history of Eddie's rock career.

Around 8:45am (London time) on BBC radio 4s 'Today programme' they featured a music writer & editor of Kerrang radio who spoke for a few minutes about Eddie's influence on rock guitar and his 'two handed tapping' technique (on the guitar neck) that revolutionized 80s rock guitar playing.

RIP Eddie
