Band: Devin Townsend
Album: Ziltoid the Omniscient
Reviewer: Prime & Cunishment

Soooooo much to say about this album. And this band even. I have not been listening to them for too long, but I really should have been. They are within the range of music that I generally go for. Devin Townsend splits up into a few different bands including the Devin Townsend Band and the Devin Townsend Project, I made a thread for them a bit ago. This album comes from his self titled band "Devin Townsend".
This album is full of so much power. It also tells you a story. I am not entirely certain of that story, because I have a bit of a hard time following it with the music playing against it. One thing is for certain though, this album is epic beyond all belief. If you are looking for great production, and powerful vocals with a frontman who has a wide range of talent, than listen to it. Each track offers it's own form of "amazing". Starts off with ZTO which is sort of the "prologue" to the whole story. It gets you ready for what the rest of the album will hold:
One song that has stuck out to me the most after giving this album a listen or two, would have to be Hyperdrive. It has so much power and musical genius in it that it's almost impossible not to pretend that you are there playing the music with the band:
You can tell from this album that Devin Townsend along with his other bands, he really knows what he is doing with his music, and you know that he will continue to have a good time doing it.
The best way I can conclude this is to say that you should check this album and this band out along with his other works of art. They are worth the sit through, because each album he has produced is full of something new. Each album sounds different than the other. I'll probably be back to review more of this album once I have become more familiar with it. I wanted to just give a taste of the album to you fellow readers.
