This album by Danger Mouse & Sparklehorse has 13 dark tracks all having the repetitive themes of Death, Pain, Revenge, War, Suicide & Twisted Dreams all evenly balanced out with motifs of joy. The songs all have guest musicians contributing their own musical talents; including Julian Casablancas of The Strokes, David Lynch, Iggy Pop and James Mercer of The Shins. This record is a nightmare in song, portraying woes and sorrows that many experience throughout life in one of the best ways I have seen in a very long time. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to 'The Dark Night Of The Soul'.
