Here's a band from Ireland I really like a lot, even though I only have two of their albums. I just can't "Find" high quality copies in my searches and MP3's just won't do. Anyway an Irish Celtic band with pop influences that has been around since the early 70's. Comprised of three members of the Brennan family and two of their uncles they are a family affair.

Discography

1973 Clannad
1975 Clannad 2
1976 Dúlamán
1980 Crann Úll
1982 Fuaim
1983 Magical Ring
1984 Legend
1985 Macalla
1987 Sirius
1988 Atlantic Realm
1989 The Angel and the Soldier Boy
1990 UK /1992 US Anam
1993 Banba
1996 Lore
1998 Landmarks

The first album I picked up was "Legend", the soundtrack for the best interpretation of the Robin Hood legend I have ever seen.

The Hooded Man.

Legend the covers.

Re: Clannad

Also the very same band where Enya got her start.

In U2's early days, Clannad's "Theme From Harry's Game" would be played over the PA system when the concert was over and the house lights came on. Very ethereal.

Re: Clannad

Nice to see another fan of Clannad in here, and I love Enya as well. It was kind of funny just before Clannad made it big she decided to pursue her solo career, which was very successful as well.

She is on my to do list, unless someone else beats me to it.;)

Re: Clannad

I enjoy Clannad for exactly that purpose OB, their music is mellow and relaxing, plus I like the traditional instruments they use.

Re: Clannad

I'm not greatly familar with this group, but the "Legend" cover looks familiar. And I see Tony Clarke (who produced all those great early Moody Blues albums) produced that album!

Re: Clannad

You might have heard them and not even known who it was CP/M. You should check them out, they are good and have a substantial discography to choose from.

Re: Clannad

Yes she is part of the Brennan family, she only played in Clannad with her two brothers and sister for a two-three period and just as they were making a breakthrough, she left to do her own thing.
