Brooks & Dunn are a massively successful country duo who rose to fame in the 1990's. Some of my favorite country tunes come from these two. Enjoy!

Re: Brooks & Dunn

Boot Scootin' Boogie

I love this song, but am so sick of hearing it...

My daughter was a toddler when this song came out. She use to sit in her high-chair and kick her legs and squeel when she heard it. When she was old enough to hit "repeat" on the CD player................she would play it over and over and over.

To this very day, this is still her favorite song! :)

This is another country duo that I have their entire discography......LOVE 'EM!

Re: Brooks & Dunn

^^^ Agreed Magic, but it's still a good tune in small doses. Along with Achy Breaky Heart, it's like the Stairway to Heaven of overplayed country songs. :D

I know Brooks & Dunn were hot in the 90's, but I happen to like their 8th album the most. This album seems to sing about all the things that happens to a young man growing up.

Kix Brooks is making the transition from the stage to the screen, landing his first starring role in the new western film, Ambush at Dark Canyon.

"I think a lot of us grew up being fans of westerns and those old TV shows," he explains to Billboard magazine.

"It's the cowboy hat, jeans and boots, and it goes along with our music. It's that simple and honest mentality. Most westerns are basically good vs. evil, and people like watching westerns because they know that in the end, the good guy is going to get the best of them."

In addition to landing the new starring role, Brooks also serves as executive producer of the holiday film A Country Christmas, and appears in the upcoming film Thriftstore Cowboy, as well as the TV mini-series, To Appomattox, which airs in 2014.

Ambush at Dark hits Walmart and Sam's Club on January 14 and all other retailers on March 11.

Old Dusters are still the best, but I wish him well with his new career. Are Brooks & Dunn still recording/touring these days?

No, LG. They announced their retirement back in 2009 and had their final concert in 2010.

They both continue to record as solo artists, though.

There is a little tid bit I wanted to pass on........In each of their albums liner notes, they both wrote short stories about "Slim & Howdy"......fictional characters of themselves.

in 2008, a full book was written "Adventures of Slim and Howdy"

I haven't read the full book, but I sure have seen the liner notes ;)

Wasn't one of them sick or something? I seem to remember hearing that on the old Country Music channel.
