I'm not one to call the crooner genre my favorite. While I do like a fair share of Sinatra and Martin I'm not one to listen to them in large spades of time. However, I gave Bobby Darin a try, picking up the Icon collection and I was impressed track for track. Here's a crooner who went all across the gambit bridging the crooner style with an Elvis style Rock and charm. I also got a great sense of humor and a willingness to spread across genres even including Country. It makes me want to check out the "Beyond The Sea" film! :grinthumb I'll leave it to the more experienced crew here to add to and fill in the gaps here but I thought he deserved his own thread here! :)

Here are some standouts for me amongst standards! The further the thread goes the deeper we can make the cuts :):

Always liked this guy. Of course I started with the hits, like "Mack The Knife", "Dream Lover", Splish Splash", "Queen Of The Hop" and "If I Were A Carpenter". It's a shame he died so young.
