Best Forgotten Bands of the 70's.

Jon Anderson had an association with this great band and supported Yes live in the early 1970's.

Badger - Wind Of Change.

Not that I'm aware of. The Yes association comes from the fact that this was Tony Kaye's band after he left Yes.

BSP..i seem to recall Dyke saying they supported Yes in Devon or Cornwall..a one off maybe..Badger were on OGWT on BBC2 and rocked. I think the normal support band let them down.
Needs further investigation!
I know that Iron Butterfly supported Yes at one time..that would have been interesting.

Check out episode 166 squeaky..Badger supported in 1972..along with 410 other bands in times past..including ABC, Styx and Toto.

I'd have to nominate the amazing Lone Star (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lone_Star_(band)). The original line-up supported the newly-abbreviated Mott for a BBC Radio 1 In Concert session, which was absolutely epic - and which is (apparently) now available on CD. Note to self: must get it!

Lone Star and Firing On All Six were excellent.

I went to see Mott..and purchased an album, not much good i recall. Then they morphed into British Lions- i saw those for 75p..not bad.

Being a long-time Mott The Hoople fan, I bought both of the Mott albums when they came out. "Drive On" was ok but a bit over-produced. I preferred the second album, "Shouting and Pointing", it was a bit heavier and less polished. "Storm" and their cover of the Easybeats "Good Times" were the best tracks on the album, IMO. Nigel Benjamin had a fantastic voice.

I bought the British Lions single, the first one, and wasn't impressed - so I never got around to buying the album.
