Beatsteaks
Since im not too sure wether anyone outside the german speaking regions in Europe has ever heard of this band, I wanna make sure at least you guys have
A little background
The Beatsteaks formed in 1995, in Berlin(Germany). One year later they won a local music contest, giving them the opportunity to play as an opening act for the Sex Pistols at their concert in Berlin.
They started to gain increased attention in Germany after being mentioned in "Unrockbar" a song by "die Ärzte", THE german punk band, in 2003. They had their breakthrough in Berlin in 2004 with their
"Smack Smash" album.
Even though they are from Germany, their lyrics are mostly written in english; german Wikipedia labels them as punk/alternative Rock.

I have seen them live on austrian music festival "Novarock" in 2010. They were just amazing so I started checking out their stuff.
