I guess you could say any trio would lose something vital. I mean, imagine Cream or ZZ Top or The Police without any member. Just wouldn't be the same.

Zeppelin comes to mind though. Never have I seen a drummer mean so much to a band's sound. It's no wonder they didn't continue.

I can agree with zeppelin, Police I guess, but meh I think zz top could have had someone else, as long as they had a beard haha, but I really think zz top could have gone on with someone different, they dont have that much interplay between each other it seems, ive never seen them like besides dvds and tv, but it just doesnt seem like they have the interplay as these other bands do
i love zz top, fandango is one of my favorite albums of any band, but they dotn have that special sound that only they can make together

Bands with good chemistry in my opinion:

The Who
The Doors
Deep Purple
Rolling Stones
Nirvana

I don't see how deep purple did, they had the lineup changes, I think rolling stones only really had a lot of interplay between mick and keith, but eh, ya I guess they had chemistry then, The who defintaely, and Nirvana i really dont know

The Who definitely wasn't the same without Keith. The Beatles and The Monkees would both be very different if one member was left out as well.

Yeah I'm going to go with monkeesfan. The Who is not the same without Keith and John.

Ya know, I absolutely love Face Dances and It's Hard. Perhaps I'm in the minority, but I never tire of Eminence Front, Athena, Don't Let Go The Coat etc.....

I think Jefferson Airplane had great chemistry when they had:
Grace Slick
Paul Kantner
Marty Balin
Jorma Kaukonen
Jack Casady
Spencer Dryden
When they changed their lineup and became Jefferson Starship, they were good(I didn't like them as much though), but not the same radical chemistry.

Behind the wheel!
Aerosmith is at the top. They are one of the oldest bands and still going.
