Instrumental technical progressive metal that is brilliant, flamboyant, and challenging. I picked up this album about a year ago and was in amazement with the first time I heard it. Wow!
Animals As Leaders is basically the work of one man, Tosin Abasi, formerly of the metalcore band Reflux, a guitar shredding virtuoso who plays all guitars including bass. Though the drums are programmed as well as other sounds it flows well with the complexity of this album.
The second album, Waves Of Babies was just released and have yet to hear it. Definitely I will be picking it up.
