Steven Tyler and Joe Perry of Aerosmith,Patrick Simmons and Tom Johnston of the Doobie Brothers and Billy Gibbons,Dusty Hill and Frank Beard of ZZ Top were nominated for the Songwriters Hall Of Fame but didn't make it
The inductees are Leon Russell,Allen Toussaint,Garth Brooks and Billy Steinberg and Tom Kelly(the two wrote Like A Virgin,True Colors,So Emotional and Eternal Flame)

I'll take the ones who didn't make it over the ones inducted...especially Steinbergh and Kelly, good gawd Simmons and Johnston's body of work puts the songs you listed to shame.

I can see Garth Brooks being inducted, he has a very long career in country music and country gets little praise these days.

I am glad George Michael didn't get the induction!

Russell and Touissant should already be in the damn thing...I have no issue with Brooks his impact on country and bringing it into the mainstream is undeniable.

However I like all the artists who didn't get in more than the ones that did in this case.(Of the ones Fever listed that is.)
