Classic MTV - Who still has their old VHS tapes?
BTW - this is incorrect. I have a recording of the first four hours when MTV went on the air, August 1st 1981. All five of those VJs were there from the start and some of the first commercials were for the Trapper Keeper and Superman II. - Joe- MicroJow

I digitize it directly into my computer, then encode it to the highest possible quality. Working in post production has it's benefits. Unfortunately, if the source material is substandard, there really isn't much you can do to help it. In my experience, most of the standalone DVD...- MicroJow

Well, if anyone DOES happen to still have their tapes with MTV recordings on them, do me a huge favor a drop me a line. I'd be willing to convert your tapes to DVD for you! Thanks for the warm welcomes, everyone! Khor - I tend to catagorize most of the popular music in the 80s as "pop" rather than "rock". When I think "rock," I think Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, etc. But, the 80s were definitely formative years for me so I appreciate the music. Frankly...- MicroJow
