Cheesy opening. Music was good though (especially the sax playing) and I can certainly identify with the message of the song. 7.5/10

One of their more forgotten hits. By this time, they had established their more polished sound, which they had debuted on the previous album. 8/10

I remember this song used to be huge back in the day. While I'm not much of a country fan myself, I'll say this...at least it has a melody to it which is something most country songs these days can't claim. 7/10

At first, I was like...who is Martina McBride? I don't remember her. Then I looked her up and it said her birthdate is 1966...and I'm like, WTF??? And then I found the "behind the scenes" video that showed how it was done through the use of a green screen (of course). But yeah, it worked really...

Speaking of nice ballads...this one was nicely put together, especially for something that came out fairly recently. 7.5/10 P.S. - Welcome back, Hydra. That was probably the longest sabbatical you've taken from this thread.

Impressive guitar work in this blues number. The vocal harmony with the guitar playing was an interesting choice. 7.7/10

I remember the Enjoli commercial that was an ode to this song, but this is the first time I'm hearing any other version of it. The lovely Raquel Welch actually does a nice job here. While it's an easy part with mostly spoken words, she has a beautiful voice. 7.5/10

For some reason, this one has shown up in my YouTube feed from time to time. Very European and sounds a bit dated with the laser gun effects, but it's enjoyable. 7/10

Not bad? It's freakin' awesome! This is one of the best pop rock songs of the 80s and I love everything from the galloping guitar to the singer's vocal delivery. You can feel the optimism of the 80s in this one like an electric current off a live wire. 9.5/10

Super heavy guitar tone. I like the chuga-chugas, but the riff gets old after a bit. This music is pretty out there and the album cover does a good job of painting you a picture of what this would look like if visualized. 6/10

I think it's funny how all of these hard rock bands with this sound have the same Dungeons and Dragons themed album cover. At any rate...it was hard to hear the singer when he began with that soft, spoken word part. Once he started to actually sing, it got better; especially with those great...

I hadn't heard anything else from her other than her big hit, Kids In America. It looks that by 1988, she and her band had dropped the New Wave sound and went all poppy. For me, it's too much like those bubble gum singers from the late 80s like Tiffany with disposable lyrics that put too much...

90s classic. I like how the song starts out with a slow ballad until taken over by an angry guitar and the singer's frustration and confusion about life and love. 8.5/10 Dammit Hydra...you beat me to it. I guess I have to rate Europe now. The vocals are very good, and while it's not in the same...

I was never a big Ted Nugent fan but I did like the riff to this one...although maybe not for the entire 5 minutes. What I take exception with is his blanket term of "white men" causing the near extinction of the white buffalo. Most of these "white men" were Spanish and Portuguese colonists. So...

Really nice cover of the classic hit by Crosby, Stills, and Nash. In fact, the harmonies sound just as good as the original. 7.7/10

Always wanted to hear a Perry Como song. Very smooth voice...I can see why he was a popular crooner in his time. While I knew he was around in the 40s, 50s, and 60s, he apparently made records up until the late 80s. That's a huge catalog of music. Might be worth a trip down the rabbit hole to...

Sounds very European. I guess this was their version of disco. The lyrics aren't going to strain anyone's brain cells, but it's a simple, fun song that would get people up to dance. 7/10

Love the strings in this one. I'm really starting to appreciate Peter Gabriel's music now after dismissing him for so many years. A couple of his pop hits, like Sledgehammer and Shock The Monkey, initially turned me off. But now I realize that he has other songs in his catalog that sound nothing...
