Top-notch rockabilly from these guys that came at a point in the 80s when the 50s nostalgia was really popular. They appeared on the scene at exactly the right time to capitalize on their taste in retro music. Also love the tasty licks coming from that Gretch. 9/10

Interesting bluegrass take on this classic. Love that banjo...7.3/10

It took a 2nd listen, but I'm kinda liking it now. A simple, but effective guitar riff along with the typical strong and recognizable vocals. 7/10

For whatever reason, she doesn't look like a guitar player. The playing was pretty good, but I wasn't a fan of the rest of the song. 6/10

I was sure I was gonna hate it based on the thumbnail alone. Expected some kind of mumble rap but instead it was more of a loungy, electronica number peppered with some guitar licks...with lyrics apparently written by Jimi Hendrix. Never heard the original but this cover(?) wasn't too bad. 7/10.

Haven't heard much of this album other than Layla but I did like this song. I was surprised to learn it went to #91 on the Hot 100. 7.5/10

Yeah, I think a few people are worried they're going to offend the other person. Or maybe they've run out of songs to post. I have two lists, one I keep for the rock forum and one for the other genres. For some reason, the latter is twice as long as the rock forum. It's hard to find good songs...

This one really lulled me into a trance, typical of me with David Gilmour's vocals. The lyrics seem to lament the loss of youth and the unending desire to go back again. 8/10

Interesting structure as it starts with the chorus and then goes into the verse. It's the epitome of the stuff he was doing in the 80s versus his work with Garfunkel. Maybe something that I could listen to once in a while but it is probably in the lower third of his work. 7/10

I didn't even know this was Kenny Rogers...or that he was in another band. Apparently, this was a lost hit for a long time until the Coen brothers stuck it in the soundtrack to The Big Lebowski. Rogers vocal delivery, the backing vocals, and the drumming all sound great. 8.5/10

Rock with attitude. The piano intro was interesting and harkened back to rock and roll's old days, however, I found the outro to be repetitive and a little boring. 6.5/10

The guitar riff is nearly the same one from Eye Of The Tiger. While the song is okay in a movie, it's not something I'd want to put on my playlist. 6.5/10

Interesting take on the Carole King classic which gives it a more inner-city soul feel. 7.5/10

Sounds like a neat little boogie-woogie number. 7.3/10 Contemporary neo-synth pop band Electric Youth singing Final Girl...set to kids dancing in the 1980s.

That electric guitar lick was unexpected and not something you usually find in your usual contemporary country song. The strings are also nice, but it sounds very blah to me...much like other country songs today. 7/10

A lot is going on in this song. I don't even know what genre this is as there seems to be a fusion of different styles. Not something I'd want to hear regularly, but interesting for a first listen. 6.5/10

I liked the words to this one which touches on the metaphorical walls in our lives. Considering a move overseas and grappling with the difficulties of all that would entail, it was easy to relate to the lyrics. It seems the words are more like poetry...not written to necessarily rhyme or sound...
