Winger "Better Days Comin'" out in April

Anything with Reb Beach is worth hearing, but I thought he was with Whitesnake.

"Bon Jovi isn't real without me."-Sambora

As far as I could tell, Sambora was the only good thing about Bon Jovi. He's better off without them.

    New Asia album in March!!

I wish it were otherwise, but Asia never fail to disappoint. If John Wetton wants something to do, he should meet up with Eddie Jobson and give Terry Bozzio a call.

    Bruce Dickinson to fly Zeppelin

It's good to see a rock star put their money into something sensible.

    Michael McDonald rejoins Doobie Brothers

He has a soulful voice, but I preferred them without him.

Deep Purple deluxe "Made In Japan"

Who remixed the album? If it was Roger Glover, I would be interested.

I know what you mean, she is Sunny by name and sunny by nature. I'm sure she'll be back . . . and Connie is still here somewhere!

Most Exciting Musical Moments of the 90's!

Another exciting thing was Classic Rock magazine appeared at the end of the nineties and it was the first proper rock publication since Melody Maker. The cover cd was good in those days, the first issue had Robin Trower and Greg Lake. It does not seem quite so good now and I buy it less often...

Most Exciting Musical Moments of the 90's!

The return of Emerson, Lake and Palmer on Warners' offshoot, Victory Records, excited me and it takes a lot to excite me. Black Moon was a bit of a damp squib, considering they had nineties technology, but their comeback live performances were better than the original vinyl. When Golden Earring...

The UK version. Not classic rock, but I like him a lot:

^ Thanks for this - so the key to his sound is lighter strings and down tuning. In the Paranoid documentary, Geezer Butler said Tony Iommi was influenced by Django Reinhardt, who also suffered an injury, and Joe Pass, hence the jazzy feel on tracks such as Planet Caravan. I don't understand...

    Black Sabbath (Official Thread)

I've just watched a TV documentary on Paranoid and I think I've got this wrong. Tony Iommi's prosthetic finger tips are on his right hand and, missing tips or not, he and Geezer Butler created a big sound by bending the strings. Interestingly, Bill Ward referred to Butler by his real name of...

    I Recently Discovered . . .

Today I discovered the first Crazy Horse album from 1971, including Gone Dead Train and Beggars' Day, and it is amazing.

Spastic is an old term for cerebral palsy and is derogatory in the UK. I have no medical training, but cerebral palsy is congenital and results in weakened muscle control/strength. Sufferers often require inordinate amounts of physiotherapy in order to breath. I had no idea it was a routine...

What's your favourite Neil Young album?

Which is your favourite album by Neil Young, with or without Buffalo Springfield, Crazy Horse or CSN&Y? I like the heavy grungey material from the late seventies, such as Zuma and American Stars 'n' Bars, but Rust Never Sleeps and Live Rust (both 1979 and sometimes released together) stand out.

I don't think Wounded Bird remaster their albums, but the advantage is that they re-release out of print albums. Despite WB's claim to transfer sleeve notes to CD booklets, some people complain about the poor details.
