In this past year the Rolling Stones have started selling downloads of concerts via their Stones Archive Store. One show they released 'A Brussel's Affair' from 1973 has an unreal 12:53 version of "Midnight Rambler" which is a must hear. I always loved the song but this version is unbelivable in...
It's really too tough to pick out the Worst album but I will tell a story about one album I couldn't stand & it ended up becoming somewhat of a joke between a friend of mine & me but I do wish I still had it just to listen to it again:
Here it was the late 70's, I'm 16, & I'm constantly...
LOL! :cheers2
I probably will buy an overpriced T-Shirt (Even though I think my last count was 16 Kiss shirts that I have!) & who knows what else! Although the last time the one T-shirt I wanted was 30 bucks but all they had were mediums. I really liked the design which had the Sonic Boom...
That is true with Rockstars aging (I just noticed in Phil Mogg's voice of UFO yesterday while listening to a track from their new album. It was on a AOR Magazine bonus disc. I liked the track & Phil's voice was okay but it's definitely changed despite what some reviewers say in my opinion.)...
Totally agree, I don't think it's fair either. Although it's really convienent ordering tickets Online it does suck in that once they started that it really opened the door for scalpers(Brokers). Sure there have always been scalpers but nowadays it is horrible. Back in the day it was mostly the...
Great points Lynch. I've also liked the way they have added "Won't Get Fooled Again" to Lick it Up. As far as Paul's voice I don't think it will ever be where it once was but for myself (when I seen them in 2009 & 2010) when I was at those Live shows I was so blown away by everything going on...
Re: Appetite For Destruction Vs. Van Halen I
I seen them back then too LG & those shows were incredible!! Van Halen opened for Sabbath in Niagara Falls, NY & even though it was only 25 minutes away from me. My friends & I didn't have drivers liscences yet so we couldn't go but one friends...
I've got to say that the first band that popped into my mind is...The Goo Goo Dolls. I know a few years ago someplace in the forum I mentioned this stuff but for those who weren't here...here goes...
In early 1986 I went to a club in Buffalo,NY called the Continental. It was to see one of...
Re: Appetite For Destruction Vs. Van Halen I
Very tough poll!!! Man, when I noticed this poll yesterday I could not make a decision at all. I kept on thinking about getting those records as soon as they were released (My Uncle actually gave me a promo copy of VH which some guy at work gave him...
I can't wait for 'Monster' to be released & I'm also wondering if that 35th Anniversary reissue of Destroyer will see the light of day w/ the Original artwork & bonus tracks. I Haven't heard much about it lately
Great News!!!! The Faces are one of my favorite bands & I can't wait for this performance. In my opinion 'A Nod is as Good as a Wink to a Blind Horse' is one of the Greatest albums of all-time & I really mean that.
The price tag is what worries me also. I'm a fan of Heart but not a freak over the band. I still wouldn't mind getting the boxset for the DVD & also I'm curious on the track listing because the one thing I love about Heart is their covers of songs live (so I'm hoping to see a couple on the...
Tony Powers had been a great songwriter which is why Ezrin brought him in. Originally it was set that Gene was going to do the vocals on the song but at the last second Ezrin gave the song to Paul.
I also heard over the years that there is a version of Kiss playing "A World Without Heroes"...
^^^Awesome show 70's Guy^^^^
I am Looking forward to 'Monster' & I think it's going to be phenomenal. I loved Sonic Boom & still listen to it frequently but I have a feeling 'Monster' is going to be even better.
Steve released a new album this year titled 'Let Your Hair Down' & it is a phenomenal blues album where he covers Buddy Guy, Muddy Waters, Jimmy Reed, & Robert Johnson among others.
I don't know how far it dates back. I was surprised Alice Cooper re-did most of the songs on his Greatest Hits album from '74 because they really don't sound any different to me. Kiss rerecorded the songs on Double Platinum in the 70's. If these guys were doing it back then I'm sure some bands...
I'm not sure if this was already posted here but as long as I'm thinking of 'Music From the Elder' here's Doro's cover of "Only You".
...and speaking of this song (& no I won't mention the sampling of this on Julez Santana's Rap song...whoops I just did mention it!) it actually pre-dates...
The one thing I wouldn't mind from the wedding is if there was a jam session that appears on the Kissology Volume 4 DVD set. (Like Ace's Wedding jam was on Kissology Volume One as a hidden Easter Egg on Disc 2)
