    The Rolling Stones (Official Thread)

It's still weird that I never seen them live! I am a Stones freak & have every album & DVD but never seen them live. The one thing I like what they have been doing for the past year is that on their official archive site they have been releasing full concert audio downloads at minimal cost. So...

    Choose ONE album only

My choice is... This album takes me back to my mid/teens & to me this album had so many styles whether it was straight forward rock (w/ "When The Whip Comes Down" or "Lies"), pop rock (with "Shattered","Beast of Burden", "Some Girls",& "Before They Make Me Run"), Rock w/ a disco beat...

    Jethro Tull (Official Thread)

I really like the Alex Harvey version as well (but then again I am a big fan of SAHB). That album 'Penthouse Tapes' was a bunch of b-sides & outtakes consisting of mostly cover tunes(they actually do a great version of the Osmond's Crazy Horses). The album was thrown together to get something...

    The Ramones (Official Thread)

Last week I had to order a replacement cd for a cd I had lost from the library. It turned out right after I ordered the CD I noticed the lost cd was on the shelf at the library(I returned 8 cd's one day & the supposed lost one never registered). Why am I telling this dumb boring story & what...

    Live Albums

3 great choices LG which I can say about everyone else here but the reason I'm commenting on your choices is because of ...April Wine Live! I don't know if it makes my top 3 but I love that record. I think I mentioned it on this forum years ago but I always loved "Mama it's True" I don't know...

    KISS (Official Thread)

I agree with you on that LG. We have a local Record/CD store that has been around since the 70's & they specialize in new vinyl releases so that's where I'll get it. It's awesome seeing the place crowded with customers on Saturdays

    KISS (Official Thread)

I've been really looking forward to the Dale Sherman book 'Kiss Faq' & Amazon has it down for a September release but yesterday I walked into a Barnes & Noble & there it was right on the shelf so I bought it. It looks to be an interesting read with a lot of facts. I really find the Wicked Lester...

    KISS (Official Thread)

I know I will buy the hard copy (not sure if CD or vinyl) but the d/l has been for sale on itunes for a couple of weeks now so I bought the d/l as soon as I seen it. I don't know how your cd is but on the D/L they have the original demo version of Sweet Pain in the spot where it is on the...

    Original Punk

I love the whole 70's punk era. The problem was I didn't appreciate it until 1980/81. I grew up in the 70's on Kiss, Aerosmith, Nugent, Angel, Sabbath,Starz, Alice Cooper...etc. I'd read Rock Scene & Creem magazine so I was aware of the punk scene but in my area if you liked the bands I...

    Kansas (Official Thread)

I'll be seeing Kansas live on 6/19! I just got my 5 dollar tickets in the mail this past week. They are playing in Lewiston,NY & the summer shows used to be free but the shows were averaging way too many people to the point of problems occurring so this year the shows are 5 or 10 bucks (Heart...

    The Cult (Official Thread)

Re: The Cult I caught the Cult live last night & they put on a hell of a show. They played 4 or 5 tunes from their new album Weapon of Choice which caused me to go home & purchase the D/L (the CD sold out by the end of the show otherwise I would have bought it there). At one point of the show...

    Johnny Winter (Official Thread)

Great album! I just rediscovered it. I had the record for years but it was lost in vinyl heaven somewhere in the attic. I was in a Johnny Winter phase recently(I have several cd's) & ordered the combination 'Nothin' but the blues' & White, Hot, & Blue'(which is another phenomenal album) cd.

    The Osmonds - Crazy Horses

Crazy Horses is great (Sensational Alex Harvey Band did a cool cover of it on their Penthouse Tapes album). That tune is great Lou! It's funny mentioning the Osmonds because yesterday while shopping with the wife we had my IPod on shuffle & Down by the Lazy River came up(another favorite of mine!)!

Sammy Hagar - Street Machine (1979)

Thanks everyone! You know...despite my praising Sammy here... I really didn't like Van Hagar. I can get by some of it now but I was so psyched that he was joining VH & then when I heard 5150 I hated it.

Sammy Hagar - Street Machine (1979)

MP, Three Lock Box was another good album by Sammy as was Standing Hampton. Stepcousin, Soon after hearing Street Machine & seeing him live I bought his Red & the live 'Up All Night's albums & loved them. It was after hearing Bad Motor Scooter on the live album that I realized he sang with...

    The James Gang (Official Thread)

Re: The James Gang I love the James Gang. Back in the early 80's a band from Cleveland used to come up to Buffalo every week. It was the Paul Pope Band & their bass player was Tom Kiss from the James Gang's first record. I even didn't mind the Miami album with Tommy Bolin

Favorite Aerosmith Album From The 70's?

I really can't remember but I know it was Pied Piper Records. It was funny though as I wondered why these live records weren't available in the stores & I'll always remember the record label said Dragonfly Records presents the Sounds of the 60's.

    Meat Puppets

I like the Meat Puppets! The one thing I really love by them is a 5 track CD single for "Backwater". Why you may ask? ...because of an awesome cover of the old Marty Robbins tune "A White Sportcoat"
